I'm Jim Martin, and as Treasurer, I'm reaching out to you to support the Foundation of Former Employees of the State Law Enforcement Division K9 Memorial project.

To honor the service and sacrifice of South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) K9s, the Society of Former Agents (SOFA) and the Foundation of Former Employees of SLED are gathering voluntary donations to support the gift of a memorial to SLED.

Following the line of duty death of SLED K9 Rico in 2023 and SLED K9 Coba in 2024, conversations began about memorializing the legacy of SLED K9s. Through the Foundation of Former Employees of SLED, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, voluntary donations can be made to support the construction of a memorial at SLED Headquarters to serve as a landmark to preserve the history of SLED K9’s service to the citizens of South Carolina. The goal is to raise $80,000 to build a professional memorial with materials made in America. This mission can only be accomplished with support from South Carolinians who believe in the importance of K9s.
