We want to build a shed so we have the space necessary to do what’s needed for the cats.
With a shed, we would be able to set up additional holding and recovery space for cats who need rehab after TNR. It would give us an organized, monitored area where cats can heal, stabilize, or wait for better placement when needed.
During trapping cases, we run into a wide range of situations , and with those come many different types of rehab needs. Some cats need extra recovery time. Some need monitoring. Some need temporary containment before they can safely return.
This work is happening every day; the shed simply gives us the space to do more without limitations. Glenda had a shed. It was the home base of TNR and community cats, often messy, but always intentional. Inside that shed were traps, equipment, and multiple rehab cages set up and ready. It worked because it allowed her to respond quickly and care for cats properly. Unfortunately, we were not able to obtain that shed after she passed. Since then, we’ve done the work to identify what’s needed and design something that fits our current location and future goals.
Due to flooding concerns, we plan to build the shed next to the house, elevated and secure. We also have future plans, including adding a catio that would connect to a lanai, expanding recovery and enrichment space even further.
This is an expensive ask, but when we think about the lives that will be helped through this space, it feels worth doing the right way.
We need more space now, but we want to do this legally, professionally, and intentionally, using a licensed structure through Tuff Shed.
If you are in a position to donate toward this expansion, we would be extremely grateful. Every contribution helps build a space that allows this work to continue and grow.
