Support Education of Displaced Children in Nigeria

Hi, I’m Alexanderia — a former U.S. diplomat and USAID official.

I’m reaching out to raise funds for local nonprofit organizations in Nigeria that were previously supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). These organizations do life-changing work in education, health, and food security—but now they face urgent challenges.

On January 20, the Trump administration enacted a 90-day pause on foreign assistance. This freeze resulted in significant budget cuts across key development sectors, including:
• Education initiatives
• Feed the Future, which fought hunger and food insecurity
• Power Africa, which aimed to expand electricity access across the continent

These cuts have left vulnerable communities in limbo. But poverty, conflict, and climate crises don’t pause just because funding stops. Babies still need to be delivered safely. Students still need to learn. Young people still need jobs. And local organizations still need support to keep doing their work.

While I can’t help every organization, I can help one at a time. I’m partnering with trusted Nigerian NGOs that previously worked with USAID and are committed to continuing their mission. They just need resources.

That’s where you come in.
Your donation goes directly to these local partners so they can continue making a difference—despite the funding gap.

Your funds will go towards Shallom International Ministry to help rebuild schools damaged by the floods in northern Nigeria. The organization was the lead for the Adamawa State Basic Education Group (BEG) formed with the support of USAID State2State activity. The aim was support to advocate for increased funding for basic education in the state. Cuts to USAID devastated the organization’s access to critical training in advocacy, youth employment, and education. Your funds will go towards reconstruction of the Kikan Primary School in Numan Local Government Area highlighted in the picture.

Together, we can keep hope alive—and build a better future, one project at a time.
