Jeff Dowell was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer in November 2019 after several months of doctor visits, chiropractic visits and other medical appointments trying to figure out the cause of severe back and stomach pain. After a torn rotator cuff, stomach ulcer and no relief, Jeff eventually received a lower body CT scan which revealed spots on his pancreas, liver, and lymph nodes, and a biopsy further showed to be cancerous. Jeff has begun chemotherapy treatment with the goal of reducing the amount of current cancer, stopping the spread of cancer and getting him some much needed pain relief. He will have a scan in 3 months to find out how the treatment is working.
Jeff is a loving single father of 5 amazing young men, 4 of whom still depend on him financially. Shortly before his diagnosis, Jeff was laid off from his job and is now unemployed and unable to work due to extreme pain and the effects of his cancer treatments.
As his family, we are asking foremost, for prayers for Jeff and his sons - for strength and healing, comfort and peace from pain, and for his medical team at the DuPage Medical Group as they work on the treatment and best plan of care for Jeff. If you are able to give financially, we would be forever grateful. The money will be used to help with Jeff’s medical expenses and to help with his family’s expenses as he continues to care for his sons, two whom are in college and two whom are in high school. Jason, Tate, Jett, Quinn, and Bo, Jeff’s sons are incredible young men with big hearts and they bring tremendous joy to the Dowell family.

Jason Dowell is a graduate of Moorhead State University in Moorhead, MN where he ran on the cross country team and currently lives and works in Minneapolis, MN.
Tate Dowell just entered his senior year at the University of Western Illinois and is studying Fire Science with a minor in Scuba Diving for scuba safety, with the goal of becoming a paramedic after he graduates in December 2020. He is an Eagle Scout and remains involved in leadership positions at Boy Scout camps during summers.
Jett Dowell is a freshman at Arizona State University, studying kinesiology and intends to go to medical school or PA school. He recently achieved his Eagle Scout.
Quinn Dowell is a junior at Wheaton North High School in Wheaton, Illinois. He wrestles on the Junior Varsity 1 team, runs cross country and is active in Boy Scouts.
Bo Dowell is a freshman at Wheaton North High School in Wheaton, Illinois. He wrestles on the freshmen team, runs cross country and is active in Boy Scouts.
Jeff’s sons are undoubtedly the most important part of his life. His greatest role has been father & his love for his sons is undeniable. He is also a loving son, brother, and uncle. After moving to the Chicago area almost 30 years ago, he has never missed an opportunity to return to the Kansas City area with his boys to support his family here, even if only for a quick 24 hours. He has been here for weddings, birthdays, holidays, bringing his Jeffrey style of wit and sarcasm, but mostly his kind heart and generosity, and when it definitely would have been easier to stay home. We all love him dearly and are praying for him and supporting him in all the ways we can. Thank you for any support, love, and prayers. I will keep this page updated on Jeff’s treatment.
