Route 66 was once Americas highway that connected the Midwest to the west coast but in the year 2026....it's fading away.
2026 marks 100 years of Route 66 and the neon is going dark. The diners are closing. The motels that once glowed for cross country travelers are slipping quietly into history.
My name is Chris Erickson better known as Just Another Chris online and I’m creating a special project that's near and dear to me which I'm calling "Forever 66 - Not Just Another Road trip" a cinematic YouTube series traveling the entire length of Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles to document and preserve the roadside Americana that still remains… before it disappears forever.
This isn’t just another road trip, It’s a visual time capsule that blends:
- Instant film photography
- Persevering history
- Interviews with owners and locals
- Historic neon signs and roadside landmarks
- Small town stories along " The Mother Road"
Above all I will be creating an interactive story/photo book with exclusive videos to watch via QR codes that bring the pages alive, which this book is up for pre order right now over on www.justanotherchris.com to help raise some funds for this project.
