Support Forestville 3rd Graders' World Finals Trip

A talented group of 3rd graders (Alex, Cayson, Colin, Ege, Jayden, Natalie, and Theresa) from Forestville Elementary has been competing in The Odyssey of the Mind competition. Odyssey of the Mind is a creative problem-solving competition that involves teams working over several months to offer a solution to a long-term problem presented to them. It also has a spontaneous portion in which teams come up with solutions to problems given to them on the spot.

This group has been meeting 1-3 times a week since October of last year, dedicating a great deal of time and effort into building a vehicle, sets, and putting together a skit that they showcased at both the Regional and State level competitions. They placed 1st in the Regional competition and 2nd in the States, earning the team a chance to compete at the World Finals at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI! They are so excited, especially considering that they are the youngest in their division and this is their first time taking part in this competition!

The cost for participating in the World Finals is high. Registration alone is $3750 for the team and each family will have to put in an additional $1000+ for travel, room/board, and food. We are hoping to defray these costs as much as we can to make this trip more affordable.
