For those who know me, you know I've always worked hard and pushed through every challenge for my family. Today, we’re asking for your prayers for our daughter Zuri, who is facing serious health problems. Last year, she caught COVID, and shortly after that she developed her first ear infection. We took her for medication, but within a week it turned into infections in both ears. She went through 7 days of antibiotics, then another 10 days of stronger antibiotics, and still nothing changed. There was no relief, no cure. Then she began losing her hearing. She could only hear us through a cell phone held to her ear. We took her to Stat twice, Val Verde Hospital twice, and her pediatrician. Her pediatrician referred us to San Antonio. At University Hospital, they told us she had been misdiagnosed, gave her more antibiotics, and sent us home. She saw her pediatrician again, and once more we were sent to the ER at Santa Rosa. Again, the doctors didn’t see the underlying issue. We were sent home, and we listened to our daughter cry in pain for a week. Finally, her pediatrician reached out to a colleague at Methodist. That visit changed everything. They found polyps in her ears, infection draining out, and finally discovered the real cause: Wegener’s disease. Our daughter, at just 16 years old, has been diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder. We are asking for your prayers, strength, and support as we continue fighting alongside her.
