Hey guys! Alexis and Brian here. Everyone who knows us, knows that we are animal lovers. Especially the doggies. Our first dog, our baby girl, Zola is having a hard time right now. She developed hyphema very suddenly in her left eye and was taken to her primary vet to be evaluated. What seemed non-urgent quickly escalated and we took her to the Emergency clinic in hickory. With little to no answers, and a beach trip planned that same night, we were given peace of mind that we should still continue our plans and she would be fine till we returned in 3 days to follow up. No sooner than we reached the coast of North Carolina we had to turn right around and rush to meet Zola in Asheville at another Emergency clinic as she developed new issues. She began vomiting blood, has blood pooled behind her eyes causing (hopefully temporary) blindness in both eyes, severe abdominal bruises, low platelets, and is anemic, as well as a stomach ulcer. Asheville is taking great care of her, and she is stable while they are looking for answers to what is causing our baby to be so ill so ssuddenly. We are asking for help for this sudden expense; continued supportive treatments, hospitalization, and possible blood transfusion. Thank you to everyone who has already helped. It takes a village!
