At 30 weeks pregnant, Zoey and Kevin experienced every parent’s worst nightmare when they received the devastating news that her baby boy had passed away.
Zoey had to undergo a C-section to deliver her precious baby boy, despite being considered extremely high-risk herself. What should have been a time of excitement and preparation for welcoming her little boy into the world has instead become an unimaginable tragedy.
Sadly, Zoey’s ordeal did not end there. Following the loss of her baby and her C-section, her health deteriorated significantly, and she has been fighting for her life in hospital in Dubai.
Zoey has now spent three days in intensive care (ICU) and is currently in an induced coma as doctors work tirelessly to treat her. Her liver and kidneys are failing, and she has suffered two episodes of internal bleeding. She has required blood transfusions and dialysis, and her condition remains extremely serious.
While our family is trying to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss of Zoey’s baby boy, we are also facing the terrifying reality of not knowing what will happen next. All we want is for Zoey to receive the medical care she desperately needs and to have every possible chance of recovery.
Unfortunately, we have also been faced with an overwhelming financial burden. Zoey had birth plan insurance, and we believed this would provide protection if something went wrong. However, we have since discovered that the policy covers the baby but does not cover medical emergencies involving the mother.
The cost of Zoey’s medical treatment has already exceeded £100,000, and the bills just keep coming. Her surgeries, blood transfusions, dialysis and ongoing intensive care are all incredibly expensive, with further costs continuing to arise as she receives the treatment she desperately needs.
We never imagined finding ourselves in this position. Our family is grieving the loss of a precious little boy while desperately hoping and praying that Zoey will pull through. Having to worry about the cost of medical treatment on top of such an unimaginable loss is something no family should ever have to face.
We are setting up this fundraiser to ask for help in easing some of this financial pressure, allowing the family to focus on Zoey, her treatment and her recovery during this incredibly difficult time.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference towards these overwhelming medical costs. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family and wider community. Every share, donation, message and prayer means more to us than words can express.
We never imagined we would have to ask for help like this, but right now, we are holding on to hope for Zoey. We want to give her every possible chance to recover and come home to the people who love her.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read Zoey’s story, for your kindness and generosity, and for keeping Zoey and our family in your thoughts and prayers during this devastating time.
Thank you for helping us fight for Zoey. ❤️
