As many of you know, my brother Brian and his wife Bridget are navigating an unimaginably difficult time right now.

Their 8 month old daughter, Zoe, was born with a rare and life-threatening liver disease called biliary atresia. At just 7 weeks old, she underwent a major surgery that offered a brief period of stability, but in recent months her condition has rapidly worsened. She has endured infections, portal hypertension, severe varices, and other complications that now make a multi-organ transplant (including her liver, spleen, pancreas, small and large intestines) necessary to save her life.

Because of how complex this surgery is, Zoe needs to be treated at one of the nation’s top pediatric transplant centers in Miami. This means my brother Brian, Bridget, and Zoe’s big sister Blake must temporarily relocate for 6 -12 months so they can remain close to the hospital during her treatment and recovery. They’ve had to uproot their entire lives to keep their family together. This has meant putting work, home, and daily life on hold in order to stay by her side.

We are raising funds to help cover the significant out-of-pocket medical costs, travel and temporary housing expenses, and the ongoing therapies and medications Zoe will need long after transplant. These costs go far beyond what insurance provides, and every contribution helps lighten the enormous burden they’re carrying.

Zoe is an incredibly strong little girl with a smile that lights up every room she enters. Even on the hardest days, she continues to fight with a bravery none of us can fully understand.
