My niece, Zileah Kincannon, is just 17 years old and recently faced the unimaginable. On December 18th, 2025, she gave birth to her son, Zi'mire Kincannon, at only 27 weeks. When he was born, he was still in the sack, and the medical team had to perform CPR to bring him back. He weighed just 2 pounds 6 ounces and was immediately rushed from Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, NC, to the NICU at Catawba Hospital in Hickory, NC. There, we learned that Zi'mire had bleeding in his head, his heart wasn’t pumping without medicine, and his organs were not functioning. He was placed on life support to help him breathe, and our family held onto hope for a miracle.
After only four days, Zileah was faced with the hardest decision of her life. Despite the incredible efforts of the doctors and nurses, Zi'mire passed away on December 21st, 2025. Our hearts are broken, and Zileah is grieving the loss of her precious baby boy. In the midst of this tragedy, we are hoping to raise funds to help with funeral costs, provide Zi'mire with a special outfit, and support Zileah’s well-being as she navigates this painful time.
We are reaching out to our community for help. Any support you can offer will go directly to easing Zileah’s financial burden and honoring Zi'mire’s memory. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and for keeping our family in your thoughts.
