On March 16, 2026, our hearts were broken when Kayla passed away after an 18-month battle with leukemia. She was only 24 years old. Kayla was deeply loved, and despite the challenges she faced in life, she loved her son Zayne with everything she had.
Zayne is just 4 years old and now facing life without his mother. He is a special needs child who depends on stability, care, and patience—especially during a time of such profound loss and change.
Kayla’s sister, Layla, along with her partner Gary, have stepped in to give Zayne a safe, loving home. They are committed to raising him and giving him the support he needs to grow, heal, and thrive. In order to do this, Layla has taken a leave of absence from her job so she can be there for Zayne during this critical transition.
As Zayne adjusts to his new life, he will soon need to begin a school program that can support his special needs. Right now, the family is focused on helping him feel safe, loved, and settled—but this also comes with financial strain.
We are asking for help to support Layla, Gary, and Zayne during this time. Donations will go toward basic living expenses, care for Zayne, and helping bridge the gap until he is able to start school and the family can regain stability.
Any amount, no matter how small, means more than words can express. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page would also be a tremendous help.
Thank you for showing love and support to Zayne as he begins this new chapter without his mom. Your kindness will help give him the stability and care he deserves.
