Zayda was recently in a coma, fighting for her life after contracting a rare and severe case of E. coli, which progressed to HUS E. coli. Thanks to the dedication of her medical team and the support of her loved ones, she is now out of the ICU and awake, but she remains in the hospital. While this is a huge step forward, Zayda still faces a long and challenging road to recovery.
