My son Zander suffers from a disease called nonketotic hyperglycinemia, which prevents his body from regulating the amino acid glycine. Unfortunately, this becomes toxic to his brain and body. He has outlived expectations and is now at the age of 9. However, he is currently intubated in the hospital. I left my full-time job to care for him in 2024 and have limited income. We are fortunate to have his medical expenses covered but subsequent expenses related to income loss while he remains hospitalised are difficult to cover.

I'm creating this GoFundMe with the potential to do a few things:

1.) Cover general expenses (rent, food, utilities) while he's in the hospital.

2.) Remaining funds will go to either cover a down payment for a handicapped van (which I have been struggling to save for) or expenses if he doesn't make it home.

I have set the goal relatively high and, I believe, gofundme will automatically increase as each incriminate is hit. If Zander doesn't come home and we have more than needed for expenses after, I will split the money between various charities that have helped us such as CHOC/Radys Childrens, Maximum Hope Foundation, Make-A-Wish, and NKH Crusaders.
