Support for Zach's Fight and Recovery ❤️‍

Hello, my name is Allyson, and I am Kati’s cousin.

On Sunday, June 16th, Kati got a phone call no fiance or mother would ever want to receive. Her husband Steven and son, Zachary(Zach) were involved in a terrible ATV accident. Zach was immediately placed on a ventilator and airlifted to UNC hospital. Once he arrived at the hospital, the doctors declared that he had a severe head injury. Zach was experiencing swelling and bleeding of the brain. Since arriving at the hospital, he has been monitored by an EEG, received platelets and plasma, has had a number of scans and labs completed. His body is exhausted but he’s a fighter!

Fast forward to Friday, June 21st, Zach was rushed to the OR to have a drain placed in his brain to try and release some of the fluid. He has had some rapid changes to his neurological exams overnight. Unfortunately, they couldn’t put a drain in because his ventricles have been so swollen but they did place a monitor in his brain to monitor the pressure.

Zach remains in critical condition and heavily sedated on a ventilator with significant brain swelling/pressure.

Steven is very sore, he has some body bruising and tenderness, but he’s more focused on Zach at this time, however, please continue to pray for healing of him as well.

There are so many unknowns at this time but God's in control! Thank you all so much for the abundance of love, support and prayers. As we continue to pray for little Zach, let’s keep his precious parents in our prayers as well for strength through this fight. They are fighting this fight alongside their little boy.
