Zachary Emmitt Stall was born on April 29, 1992, in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Stewart County High School in Tennessee in 2010 and, that same year, answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army.
Zach proudly served one combat tour in Afghanistan from February 2013 to September 2013. During his service, he earned numerous decorations and awards, including the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NATO Medal, Air Assault Badge, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge. He attained the rank of Sergeant before honorably separating from the Army in 2017.
Above all else, Zach was a devoted husband to Chelsea Stall and a loving father to Riley, Madelyn, Emmitt, and Audrey—the roles he cherished most. He was also a beloved son of Angela and Michael Stall, a proud grandson, a brother, uncle, and a deeply loyal friend to many.
After his military service, Zach set his sights on becoming a Journeyman Lineman. In 2017, he joined the Union Hall at Local 429 and began working with Service Electric. After eight months, he accepted a position with City Light & Power at Fort Campbell Army Base in Kentucky in 2018. Through dedication, hard work, and perseverance, Zach proudly achieved the title of Journeyman Lineman in May 2023, a goal he worked tirelessly to reach.
Zach was truly an honor and a joy to be around. No matter the situation, he carried a positive attitude and always seemed to have the right words at the right time. He was the voice of reason, the steady presence, and without a doubt, the greatest storyteller many had ever known. Zach had a gift for humor—he could have been a stand-up comedian—and he lived to make others laugh and feel happy.
He hated seeing anyone sad and made it his mission to lift others up. Sadly, while he worked so hard to bring light and laughter to those around him, he quietly carried his own battles. On February 4, 2026, Zachary Emmitt Stall—the husband, the father, the son, the brother, and my best friend—lost his battle with PTSD.
We are asking, with humility and gratitude, for the support of the brotherhood to help ease the burden on Zach’s family during this heartbreaking time. Any support, prayers, or kindness shown is deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
