Help support Yunie and her family

On January 23rd, 2023, I realized just how unpredictable life can be. My best friend Tiffany called and weepingly explained that her mother Yunie had been hospitalized. She was found non-responsive after suffering a brain aneurysm and falling down a flight of stairs with significant head trauma, rib fractures and a knicked lung. She underwent immediate emergency surgery to save her life. Tiffany flew out the very next morning, almost 4,000 miles away to be with her mom.

Yunie has since successfully stabilized, but the surgeries only prevented further injury, it did not reverse them. Yunie can open her eyes, but that is the extent of communication that she's capable of. There will be more surgeries ahead and trials to overcome but Yunie has always been a fighter and will continue to do so.

Because of the injuries shes received, things will never be the same again. It's as if Yunie is a newborn baby and will have to relearn and experience everything all over again, possibly even her own daughter and family.

Even with this curveball thrown at her family, they are doing their best to endure. Yunie has been surrounded by family day and night, so she is never alone. Tiffany continues to keep up with her college work and does what she can to make money on the side. She had to leave her dog behind and has depleted her savings as she continues to pay rent for the apartment she shares with her roommate so that they won't get evicted. Tiffany has no idea what she'll do next, as her mothers insurance has also been declined. She will have to leave her job and schooling in order to help her father take care of her mother.

I've known Tiffany and her family for almost 10 years now, to the point that I call her mom, my mom. With no siblings, I'm the closest thing Tiffany has to family outside of her mom and dad. She is stubbornly selfless and she refuses to ask for help, an altruistic trait and strength that she inherited from her mom. Tiffany has always been there for others, and Yunie opened her home to me as a teenager years ago when I had nowhere else to go. I've created this GoFundMe with the goal of helping to alleiviate some of their financial burdens to ensure their continued security in dealing with other life and medical expenses ahead. I am hopeful that the kindness Tiffany and her family has poured out into the world, can make its way back to them in full in their time of need!

From the bottom of my heart I thankyou for anything that you're able to donate to help her family. Please keep Yunie and her family in your prayers.
