Our family is heartbroken after the sudden loss of my sister, Yolanda, who tragically passed away in a house fire. Yolanda was unable to escape the fire quickly due to her disability. Approximately 30 years ago, Yolanda was the victim of gun violence that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Despite her disability, Yolanda entered nursing school with the dream of becoming an RN until she suffered a stroke in 2014 that significantly limited her mobility even further. Her passing has left a deep void in our lives, and we are now faced with the difficult task of saying goodbye while also caring for her youngest surviving daughter who just discovered she’s expecting her first child. Yolanda is also survived by her oldest daughter, Irielle, and three beautiful grandchildren.
We are reaching out to our community for support as we work to give Yolanda a beautiful homegoing service that honors her life and legacy. The funds raised will help cover the funeral expenses and provide immediate support for her youngest daughter, who is navigating this unimaginable loss without a home or her mother. Your generosity will help us celebrate Yolanda’s life in a way that truly reflects the love she shared with all of us.
Any contribution, big or small, is deeply appreciated. Your kindness and support mean the world to our family during this time of grief. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers, and for helping us give Yolanda the farewell she deserves.
