On July 21st, 2025, we lost an extraordinary soul. James Allen Tippett—known to most as Jay—passed away at the age of 43 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Merriam, Kansas, Jay was the heart of many circles: a devoted husband to Yamilza, a loving father to Dezmond and Jozy, a beloved teacher at Spring Valley High School for 19 years, and a passionate coach in both soccer and golf. His kindness, mentorship, and infectious enthusiasm touched countless lives across Las Vegas and Missouri.

Jay moved to Las Vegas to build a life with the love of his life, Yamilza, and together they raised two beautiful children. With Jay gone, this close-knit family is now without a father and provider, navigating a future none of us ever imagined.

We’re asking friends, family, and all those whose lives were impacted by Jay to come together in support of Yamilza, Dezmond, and Jozy. Your contribution will help ease the financial burden in the months ahead and allow this incredible family to focus on healing and honoring Jay’s legacy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Palm Mortuary – Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. All are welcome.

Jay gave so much to his students, athletes, friends, and family. Now it’s our turn to show up for his family, just as he always did for us.
