Our dear friend and colleague, Xochitl Armenta, needs our love and support during an incredibly difficult time of family crisis. In 2023, Xochitl's brother, Sam, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at 17 years old. For the last two and a half years, he has been undergoing treatment, including multiple surgeries and chemo. Sadly, the osteosarcoma has metastasized to his lungs, and his current treatment options are limited.

To that end, the family is working on fulfilling some of Sam's bucket-list items, which include his wish to visit their family in Mexico. Unfortunately, due to how much the cancer has spread in his lungs, his doctors do not recommend flying. The family is currently considering a road trip of 32+ hours from the Bay Area to the family's hometown of Amatlán de Cañas, Nayarit.

Xochitl has expressed immense gratitude at all of the love and support that folks have sent so far. Any gift, no matter the size, will be so appreciated! Any funds left over from the cost of the trip will go towards outstanding medical expenses.
