My name is Nicole Saretsky-Perkins, and I’m writing this on behalf of Carey Mamer (nee Rueve) and her 5 year old son, Xander. On April 29, 2023 Carey experienced a parent’s worst nightmare. What was thought to be a stomach flu quickly escalated into a trip to the ER, resulting in an emergency surgery. During the surgery it was discovered that Xander had twisted bowels (volvulus), and it had progressed to the point of complete tissue death. His entire small intestine was removed, and he is now waiting for a transplant.

I’m hoping to raise money to help Carey and Xander’s dad, Nathan. They will be traveling out of province for Xander’s care, so this money will help with travel costs, loss of income, and daily living costs as they tend to Xander and try to maintain some normalcy for their 8 year old daughter, Kadience.
