Support For William Watkins' Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Our family is requesting financial support to assist in covering the expense of "Big Will’s” transportation from Chicago, IL. to St. Louis and to assist in covering his medical expenses.
On February 18, 2024, a day following our son’s joyous surprise 21st birthday celebration, William Watkins, known to many as “Big Will”, a wonderful son, a loving husband, an amazing father, and dedicated brother and friend to many, at the young age of 44, suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke rendering him partially paralyzed on his left side, with limited speech, and the inability to breath or walk on his own. After an intensive two months in ICU on a ventilator and a month long stent in rehab at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago, IL., Will has shown gradual progress. However he still has a long road ahead.
Today our family was notified that his insurance company has reached its maximum payout, that they will no longer cover his medical care and that he will need to leave the facility immediately. Our family was advised that we will need to have him transported at our own expense back to St. Louis via medical flight due to the life sustaining medical equipment he is still connected to. An expense that will cost up to $9,000.
We appreciate any and all assistance that you can provide.
****NOTE: We will need to transport him home by Friday, May 10th 2024.
