In Loving Memory of My Father
Hello everyone, my name is William Chan, and I am reaching out for your help during one of the most difficult times in my life. My father passed away shortly after celebrating his 68th birthday this January. His passing was sudden and completely unexpected. Just a week before, he appeared healthy, with no warning signs that anything was wrong. The shock of losing him so suddenly has left our family devastated.
My father was a devoted family man. He loved us quietly, through his patience, sacrifice, and steady presence. He was the primary breadwinner of our household and, lovingly, the cook who prepared our daily family dinners. His absence is deeply felt. Our home is quieter now without his banter and jovial spirit filling the rooms. We were not financially prepared for this loss. Our family has lived modestly, paycheck to paycheck, relying primarily on my father’s income to cover our bills and basic needs. My mother, brother, and sister have been unemployed for several years and do not currently earn income. As for myself, I have worked in meaningful roles such as teaching English in Japan, coaching youth sports, and content creation. While these experiences have been rewarding, they are not financially sufficient to support a household of four on their own.
I am asking for time. Time for our family to grieve. Time to find stability. Time to figure out how to move forward. Every contribution, no matter the amount, helps.
A significant portion of the funds raised will go toward funeral expenses. I have emptied most of my savings to cover the unexpected costs, as the funeral home requires full payment upfront and does not offer installment options. Though cremation was the more affordable option, our family chose to honor my father with a ground burial. It was important to our family that he be laid to rest in the manner he would have wanted.

If you are able to donate, we are deeply grateful. If you cannot give financially, sharing this page would mean just as much. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With gratitude,
William Chan
