Hello, my name is Whitney McElroy and I am trying to raise some money for my dad’s cremation and celebration of life service. On April 25th, my dad, a trucker who’s put 30 years into trucking, was in a really bad accident in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At first, he was supposed to make a full recovery from the bleeding he had all over his brain. On May 10th, he suffered a massive stroke causing permanent damage to the majority of his brain, putting him on life support with no chance of recovery.

My dad, a wonderful man, father, grandfather, and person, didn’t deserve this. He’s given his last dollar to strangers on the street, he’s there for those who need it, always there to lend a helping hand or be a listening ear without judgement. My dad didn’t have any sort of life insurance or retirement in place, he planned on trucking till his last day on Earth.. which I suppose he did just that. However, now my brother and I have been left with the task of figuring out how to pay for what comes next and how to give him the beautiful service he deserves.

Not only is this the worst time in our lives as there’s no guide on how to lose a parent, but having to try to figure all this out has added so much more stress on top of it all. I have 4 children and a baby on the way and my brother has 4 children himself.. we truly don’t know how to make this happen. So we’re asking for help.. anything helps. Even if you can’t donate.. please share. My dad deserves to leave this world peacefully and be celebrated for the wonderful man he was. This is an absolute nightmare.. he is my person and my best friend and I can’t bare the thought of not being able to give him what he deserves. Anything donated will go towards helping to cremate him, bring him home where he belongs, and celebrate his life and all of the amazing things he did during his time here.
