We are starting this gofundme because many people have reached out asking how they can help support the Anna and Ethan during this time. More than anything, they are asking for continued prayers, love, and encouragement for Wesley to make a full recovery.
Anna and Ethan’s son, Wesley, has shown incredible strength since the day he was born. Anna and I have been friends for over 10 years, and I’ve watched their family grow with so much love and hope. Wesley was born with Down Syndrome in October 2025 and spent his first 37 days in the NICU, fighting through breathing and feeding difficulties. Even after finally coming home, Wesley faced more challenges, including catching COVID and developing epilepsy. These complications made his upcoming open heart surgery even more daunting, but thankfully, they didn’t delay the timeline.
In March 2026, Wesley underwent his first open heart surgery at Children’s Hospital to repair his heart valves. Unfortunately, he experienced complications after the operation and needed a second open heart surgery just a couple of weeks later. This time, the surgery was successful, and Wesley’s heart was repaired. He is still in the hospital, recovering and needing oxygen support, with his return home depending on his progress. Throughout all of this, Anna and Ethan have taken unpaid leave from work and used all their vacation time to be by Wesley’s side, facing mounting expenses and uncertainty.
We are raising funds to help cover the many costs that come with Wesley’s care—gas and meals while away from home, lost income during his surgeries and recovery, medical and oxygen supplies, NG-tube supplies, and any other expenses not covered by insurance. The funds will also help with any future procedures or therapies Wesley may need. Anna and Ethan are not ones to ask for help, but as their friends, we want to support them in any way we can. We all hope that Wesley will be able to come home soon so they can be together as a family. Your support means the world to them. Above all, they ask for prayers for a full recovery for Wesley.
