Wendy is one of my best friends, and her world was turned upside down by the sudden loss of Nathan Detzer Sr., the devoted father of her two children, Nathan Jr. (16) and Sophia (11). Wendy and Nate shared a strong, non-romantic partnership as co-parents, working together to give their children a loving and stable home. Nate was the sole provider for their family, and his passing has left a huge void in their lives, both emotionally and financially.

Wendy is currently attending college part time and homeschooling Nathan Jr. and Sophia, doing everything she can to keep their lives as stable as possible during this heartbreaking time. Without Nate’s steady support, the family is facing mounting bills and daily expenses that are difficult to manage on their own. The stress of financial uncertainty is making it even harder for them to grieve and begin to heal.
