Hello everyone, I’m reaching out on behalf of Wendell. Over the past year or so Wendell has been experiencing really weird symptoms. Feeling unusually weak and experiencing loss of function in his hands was where it all began.
A few short months ago he was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig disease.
Over these past couple of weeks his symptoms have become very progressive. He has recently lost the majority of his muscle and is slowly losing his ability to speak. His ability to complete basic daily task have become very time consuming for him If not impossible due to his progressive weakness from muscle loss.
If you know Wendell you know how hard this is for him. He has always been a strong hard working man that would take the shirt off his back for anyone.
He has taken a few nasty spills these past few weeks. Once of which left him with a pretty deep gash above his eye.
Wendell’s birthday is in a few weeks and we’re hoping to gift him with an outdoor power chair. Wendell loves spending time with each of his grandchildren. With their sports season approaching this chair would be a major blessing!
Up until now Wendell has not been public about his diagnosis and he has tried to get through with as much normalcy as possible. He has been given 1-2 years which has been very devastating but We serve Mighty Physician! We are not giving up!
If you can help out financially that's great, we totally appreciated anything you are able to give. If you are not in a place where financial support is something you are able to help with then no worries, Wendell could also use all the prayers as well.
If you could please forward this message out to anyone you may think should know what's been happening please do so.
Take care,
The Scarbrough Family on behalf of Wendell
