Support for Wayne Osmon's Family

Here Fishy Fishy...

These are the words we imagine Wayne Osmon (Papa to most) saying from the heavens above. On Dec. 21st, 2024, we lost a Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Uncle, Veteran, and friend. Born on April 1st (a fool's baby) in Oconto Falls, WI he was one of 6 kids and amazing parents. Being from WI he was also a Packer's fan through and through (we forgave him for his small stint as a KC fan). One of the last games he watched was surrounded by so many family members cussing at the tv. Papa has an amazing list of accomplishments but none far better than being a proud Marine and serving in Vietnam from '67-'68, his wife of 25 years, 4 kids, 12 grandkids, 8 great-grandkids with another on the way. Family was his proudest accomplishment and anyone that spent any time with him knew that. His love of fishing took him all over the states. If there was a spot to fish in, he was there. Some said, "If you find him a puddle, he would bring home a fish." Oh, and could he cook! Smoked salmon, wet burritos, and so many other wonderful foods. It's funny because Papa could be the life of the party without even knowing it.

In early Dec., Papa was given 2-3 days yet managed to stay with us for an additional week and a half, witty as ever. I can say from his mouth to your ears that he left this world knowing how much he was loved by all of you. He truly left this world with no regrets and was lucky enough to have final conversations with so many. He was at peace knowing his time here was coming to an end and on Dec. 21st at 1:13 am Papa passed peacefully with our mom's cheek to his, just the way we knew he would have wanted it.

Because Papa's passing came with very little notice, our family was not as financially prepared as they would have liked. Both our parents were retired and on a fixed income, and with the VA only covering a small portion of his cremation, the rest falls on our mom (approx. $970 out of pocket). While our mother will be entitled to his VA benefits, it will likely take 2 months for everything to be settled and payments to resume, and as most of you know, that doesn't stop the bills from coming. Unfortunately, our parents' bills outweighs our mom's monthly social security. We want do what we can to help take some financial pressure off our mom so she can focus on putting Papa's affairs in order. Just know that any money donated will go towards the cost of Papa's cremation and covering Mama's living expenses and unforeseen bills.

We also understand that with the holidays passing, not everyone may be able to contribute. What we do ask is that you keep our family in your prayers and you find a way to continue to keep Papa's memory alive through the stories you have been lucky to be a part of.

As Papa would say... Live a life that makes you happy... One that when you leave this world you leave a lasting memory with no regrets.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the memories you helped give our dad!

Love, Papa's Family!
