Waylon Lockhart is a young boy facing serious medical challenges that have kept him in the hospital for extended periods. His parents, Daniel and Amber, are devoted to being by his side every step of the way. I first met them when Amber reached out to my workplace, hoping to find a way for Waylon to enjoy life like any other boy, despite his limitations. Waylon is nonverbal and not able to run or play outside, so his parents do everything they can to bring joy and comfort to his life.

Recently, while the family was in Gulf Shores, Waylon's medical issues became even more severe and he had to be rushed to Studer Children's Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. Now, Daniel and Amber are hundreds of miles from home, staying with Waylon as he receives the care he needs. They are facing the possibility of moving him to a hospital several hours from their home, and the financial strain of travel, medical bills, and daily expenses is overwhelming. Through it all, Daniel and Amber have shown incredible strength and love, always putting Waylon first and never asking for help themselves.
