I don’t usually ask for help, but I want to be honest about where I’m at right now. The past year has been really difficult, and I’m currently working to get back on my feet while dealing with health challenges and waiting for my first paycheck from a new job. I’m also proud to say I’m 28 days sober and working hard to move my life in a better direction.
Managing my diabetes has become even more challenging recently. I had to change my medication because the previous one was making me sick, but the new meds are much more expensive. I’ve been working with Connections for the Homeless to get Medicaid, but it’s a slow process and I don’t know when I’ll be approved. On top of that, I lost my old job of several years a few months ago, and this new job means so much to me as I try to rebuild my life and regain stability.
Sobriety has brought me more clarity and helped me face reality instead of avoiding it. I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made, but right now I’m struggling to afford my medication and basic expenses. Any help or even sharing this would mean a lot. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer.
