With gratitude to God for a life well lived but with a deep sense of loss, the Nweze and Nnonyelu families announce the passing of a great man, devoted husband, father and brother-in-law, Chief Emeka Alexander Nweze (Chinyelugo) on Tuesday January 26th, 2021 after a brief but intense fight with cancer. May God grant his peaceful soul eternal rest.
We ask for your financial support as we plan to take Emeka back to Nigeria for burial, as per his wishes.
Born in Awka, Nigeria, Emeka was a true warrior with a deep sense of love and pride for his country that was only trumped by the love and pride for his family.
A fighter at his core, Emeka fought for his country as a child solider, witnessing and enduring harrowing pain, destruction and torture that no adult should ever face let alone a child.
The scars and wounds from that battle would later turn into a battle with mental health, that he fought so triumphantly to overcome, and did. Emeka never gave up in any of his battles, and continued to be a source of hope, light and propriety for his loving wife Felicia and two children Vivian and Alex Zik Jr.
His faith in God never wavered. Emeka always worried about other people before himself and carried heavy burdens while barely ever complaining. He asked about how his children were doing, even during his time in the hospital.
It’s now time for him to lay rest. Thank you for your prayers, calls and messages during this most difficult time.
May God bless you as you give.
Thank you.
