Support for Virginia's Family in Her Final Days
Donation protected
Hello I am Ana Melendez, a family friend and second daughter to Virginia Rubio. I have known Vicky since I was in third grade, friends with her daughters Jasmine and Liz Yáñez.
Virginia has been happily married to Ruben Yáñez for 26 years. She's had an amazing life surrounded by her kids Sujedie Alejos, Andre Rubio, Jasmine Yáñez and Elizabeth Yáñez.
Virginia loved to Decorate for special events such as Weddings, Baby showers, Birthday parties and anything else that needed to be decorated- she would be ready to start right away!
I will never forget our sit downs and heart warming conversations whenever I would come over and have our regular talks. Her life stories were really eye opening and exciting! She made us laugh so much with every memory she would tell and would make us cry as well.
Every moment with her was worth the life lecture she would give to help one in their every day life, and I know many that would agree.
Help Us Honor Our Beloved Mother’s Life and Legacy
Our family is heartbroken to share that our beloved mother was placed on hospice care after years of fighting multiple serious health conditions with incredible strength, grace, and resilience.
In 2018, our mom was hospitalized with a severe pneumonia infection and suffered a minor stroke. She was placed in a medically induced coma for nearly a year. Miraculously, she made it home, but life was never the same. She lived with a tracheostomy, heart failure, pulmonary edema, pulmonary hypertension, and has been bedbound, requiring daily medications and round-the-clock care.
Despite her challenges, Mom remained the heart of our home — caring, loving, and fiercely devoted to her family. Her strength was unmatched. She was always present, always loving, and always ready to make others feel welcomed, especially during family gatherings, birthdays, and holidays she would help plan with joy, even from her bedside.
In early 2025, she was prescribed antibiotics for a skin infection, which triggered severe nausea and dehydration. This led to a rapid decline in her health, and she was soon diagnosed with acute kidney and liver failure, believed to be caused by the medications. She was in and out of the hospital since January, and on May 2nd, we received the devastating news that she would be transitioned to hospice care.
Her daughters, son, and her loving sister Anabel Alaníz have been caring for her at home, doing all they can to keep her comfortable and surrounded by love. After spending one last cherished Mother’s Day with her family — a moment we believe she held on for — her health began to decline rapidly.
She is survived by her devoted husband, who is also facing his own medical challenges, her four children (ages 27, 25, 23, and 22), her three sons-in-law, and five beautiful grandchildren (ages 7, 5, 4, 7 months, and a baby expected this September). She was more than a mother — she was a second mom to many of our friends, a guiding light, and a source of unconditional love and warmth.
Now, we are asking for your help.
We are seeking donations to cover funeral costs and the ongoing expenses of her end-of-life care. Our family wants to honor her the way she lived: surrounded by love, dignity, and care. Any amount, big or small, will go directly to ensuring we can give her the peaceful farewell she deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting us during this incredibly difficult time.
With love and gratitude,
Her Children & Family
This will help Virginias family with all costs coming their way, we appreciate the help!
