We are friends of Victor, a devoted single father who is living every parent’s worst nightmare. Just hours ago, he lost his teenage son Joshua to senseless gun violence — a bright, hopeful young man whose life was taken far too soon.

Joshua, affectionately called Joe was a kid with a good heart and big dreams. He talked often about joining the military, building a better future, and changing his life for the better. Despite the hardships he faced — including losing his mother at a young age — he remained determined, resilient, and full of potential.

Now, Victor his father is left to navigate unimaginable grief while trying to find the strength to plan a funeral no parent should ever have to prepare for.
