My father is a disabled veteran who has lived with me for many years. As his only child and caregiver, I have watched him face incredible challenges with strength and dignity. Recently, his health has declined significantly—he is now on hospice care and can no longer eat or drink due to severe swallowing difficulties. This journey has been heartbreaking, and it has been made even more difficult by the fact that, after his stroke and years of declining health, securing insurance has been nearly impossible.

Throughout his life, my father has been a source of kindness, love, and support—not just for our family, but for everyone he met. He always believed that everyone has a story, and he made it a point to listen and help whenever he could.
