Veronica Bustejer is a beloved high school English teacher and my co-worker. She is known for her kindness, always greeting students and colleagues with a smile and a cheerful word. Veronica’s positive spirit has touched so many lives on our campus, and now she is facing an incredibly difficult time.

Recently, Veronica’s husband has had some very serious medical issues, and she had to make the urgent journey home to the Philippines to be with him. She is now making critical medical decisions for her husband while also caring for their two special needs children. This situation has made it impossible for Veronica to work for the foreseeable future, even though she has been working here in the United States to support her family financially. The emotional and financial strain on her and her family is immense.
