Vee is my friend who is like a sister to me—she’s truly family by choice. She’s a single mom who works hard to care for her children and her mother. Recently, her world was turned upside down when her mom suffered a heart attack at home. On the way to the hospital, her mother’s heart stopped, but thankfully, she was revived. Now, she’s on a ventilator, and the doctors are still unsure if there will be any brain activity.

This has left Vee in an unimaginable situation. She is the sole breadwinner for her family, but right now, she can’t work because she needs to be there for her children and her mom. Her mother usually helps watch the baby, so Vee is juggling everything on her own. The bills are piling up—her phone has already been turned off, and she’s struggling to keep up with electricity and other household expenses. She’s overwhelmed, exhausted, and hanging on by a thread, with no financial support.
