Support for Vallen Nelson and family

On January 26, 2025, Vallen passed out during the Calvary Chapel morning church service. We are thankful for the swift actions of off duty medical professionals who rushed to his aid while an ambulance was called. We found out a few days later after a biopsy that cancer metastasized to the liver. He has a very large, painful tumor on the liver that will need treatment in the coming weeks.

Anyone who knows Vallen knows he is such a hard worker. At 70 years old, he does more on a typical day than many men who are decades younger. He has now been on Unpaid leave from his sales job as the breadwinner of the home for two weeks. Medical costs are accumulating.

Vallen and his wife, Kathy Nelson, are raising their adopted son Jaxon (15) in Joplin, MO.

Health concerns have been present since April 2023 when Vallen was first diagnosed with bladder cancer. After many surgeries, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, complications, repeated hospitalizations, multiple ambulance rides and even a helicopter ride to KU, he was in remission for a time. We are sad to know he is battling cancer again, but praying for swift healing. Thank you for prayers and consider making a gift contribution.
