Our beloved Uncle Jose “Pepe” Lucio was recently diagnosed with late-stage ALS, also known as Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease). This devastating diagnosis has turned our world upside down. ALS is a progressive disease that attacks the nerves and muscles, gradually taking away a person’s ability to move, speak, and eventually breathe. Sadly, Pepe is now nearing the end of his journey with us.
Anyone who knows Pepe knows what an extraordinary soul he is. He is truly one of the kindest and most genuine people you could ever meet. He greets everyone with a warm smile and an open heart. Whether you needed a helping hand, a good laugh, or simply someone to listen, Pepe was always there without hesitation. He is also a devoted fan of the San Francisco Giants and can happily talk for hours about how the team is doing. His love for baseball, his sense of humor, and his generous spirit are just a few of the many things that make him so special to all of us.
As a family, we are heartbroken. Alongside the emotional pain of watching someone we love face this illness, we are also facing overwhelming medical expenses. We are humbly asking for your support to help cover the costs of hospice care, ensuring Pepe is as comfortable and peaceful as possible in his remaining time with us. We also hope to ease the financial burden of funeral arrangements so we can give him the dignified farewell he deserves. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help lighten this weight during an incredibly difficult time. If you are unable to give, we completely understand — sharing this page and keeping Pepe in your thoughts and prayers means more than you know. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, generosity, and support. With gratitude, Pepe’s Family
