Support for Umer's(Pax's) Family After His Passing

Donation protected
Hi, I am a single parent of two boys one of which is terminally ill (Umer) he has written his story below, we have always been independent and fortunate enough to donate towards charities and help friends and family members who have been in need but now we are in that position.

With our current situation, since I'm self-employed, I request your help with either a donation or prayers towards Umer and my family. I would like to spend as much time as I can with my son but due to all the house bills, food costs, mortgage payment and car lease (which is there for my line of work), I'm unable to have that time to make our last memories together.

In addition to that, all the travel costs from going back and forth to the hospital, hospice and home are adding up and it's making it impossible for me to be able to spend our time together. With so much money going out but such little coming in each day, I am in a very difficult position where I have to choose between keeping a roof over our heads and food on the table, to how much time I can spend with my terminally ill son knowing that one day he won't be here with me anymore and each day I have to face that battle. Your donations will help me in ways unimaginable and I pray you all are given the world, everything inside it and more.

Umer's (Pax's) Mum

Hi,
My name is Umer, many know me as Pax. I am the eldest son at 21 years old and I was diagnosed with Soft Tissue Sarcoma in my left calf muscle at the age of 19 in February 2022, having initially had symptoms at the age of 18 in June 2021. I am now a terminal patient and merely have weeks to live.

April 2022
It was revealed to me that my tumour was inoperable and I was left with no other alternative but to amputate my left leg, this was at Royal Manchester Infirmary. I was referred to The Christie's in Manchester for 6 rounds of Chemotherapy that started in May 2022 until Jan 2023. This was to determine whether the amputation was to be above or below the knee. Unfortunately, the Chemotherapy was unsuccessful and it had to be an above knee amputation.

10th February 2023 - Surgery Day!
The operation went well even though I had heart damage from a Chemotherapy called Doxorubicin due to it being Cardio-toxic which made them initially weary of continuing. After 3 weeks in Manchester Royal Infirmary I was discharged with the hope of being cancer-free and my mind was fully set on rehab and rebuilding my life.

August 2023 - Relapse
I went for a routine appointment with my consultant at The Christie’s and he booked me in for a scan unfortunately, to my disbelief, he confirmed that I had a shadow in my left lung and he was fairly confident about what it was since it is one of the most likely secondary locations for a relapse.

October 2023 – Life Threatening Bleed
I had one cycle of Trabectedin and ended up being admitted a day later due to side effects and symptoms. On the day of discharge, I kept on blacking out and was taken for an emergency scan, straight off the back of that they then did further scans of multiple disciplines. Following this, it was confirmed that there were 6 litres of blood in my left lung which needed to be stopped and drained as a matter of urgency. Hospitals rejected us all night until Wythenshawe in Manchester finally came up with a potential but hazardous trial surgery. The chances of survival of the first surgery which was embolization of the Pulmonary Artery was at most 50% however they had no idea where I was bleeding from and that was the most dangerous part of the surgery.

Thankfully the surgery went well even though I came out 2 hours late. The next day is when they drained all the blood and I had a 70% chance of surviving even though 24 hours prior at The Christie they had deemed it a terminal event meaning that I wouldn’t have survived it like the embolisation, this was also successful. They did however give me 3 weeks to live at that time too but my body managed to adapt to the changes hence why I’m alive now.

December 2023 – Chemo Restarted

February 2024 – Amputation Revision
The seam of my initial amputation was stretching to the point where the bone was starting to protrude, urgent surgery was planned and carried out within the week. Then it was back on the road to recovery having spent a further 3 weeks in hospital because of the revision.

April 2024 – Another Blip
While in the hospital, I had another bleed in my lungs, but it was only small however I did cough up quite a big clot. On top of that, I also ended up having VRE making me immune to all the strongest anti-biotics which complicated my recovery. Vocal Cord Palsy I ended up getting too due to a tumour putting pressure on my right vocal cord which meant my voice had permanently gone but I had some herbal medication and that cured me of that issue after a few cycles.

July 2024 – Terminal Declaration
Having been admitted to A&E by my GP after conversations with my District Nurse, I received 3 units of blood and antibiotics. A week into my treatment we got called for a family meeting where it was revealed to us that they will no longer be giving me treatment at The Christie in Manchester and I am now regarded as a Terminal Patient (End of Life). I have temporarily been shifted to a Hospice until I spend my final moments in the comfort of my own home with my loved ones.

This is a brief version of my story … Thank you for your time. I hope you find it in your heart to support my younger brother and single mother after I depart this world even if it's as simple as sharing this page or sending words of love, I would appreciate it all.
