Support for Tyler's Recovery and Expenses

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Molly Corder and I am a very dear friend of Dawn and Cheyenne Christian and their three incredible children; Tyler, Jarron and Garrett. Their family endured a terrible accident yesterday and this fundraiser is in an effort to support them and their financial/medical bills/needs over what will be a long road ahead. Here is Dawn's most recent update.

Hi friends I thought I’d give the best update I can regarding Tyler. First of all thank you so much to every single person reaching out to us and extending prayers , that’s what we need the most right now. We have amazing family and friends that raced to be with us in our time of need and so many more who have been checking in .

Yesterday, Tyler was doing a very routine thing , catching her horse whom she loves dear, to ride and something in the pasture spooked him as she walked around him and he kicked her in the face.

The first miracle is she was able to get her phone and call me and tell me she was badly hurt and I called 911. I immediately texted her paps to get to the barn because he was closest . I called Cheyenne and we both raced home not sure what we would find.

The paramedics arrived a few minutes after and immediately took her to the airport and we followed closely behind in my car. Very quickly after.. her and I took a ride to OU trauma with some amazing flight nurses and a great pilot.

She was immediately cleared for lower level trauma.(second big answer to prayer)

Before arrival, we heard a friend from Ada’s husband was the anesthesiologist on call and he came to talk to me and also got Cheyenne in a room with me where only one visitor is usually allowed. He was with her during surgery.

She did have a mild brain bleed but nothing concerning considering the damage. She has multiple face fractures, lots of missing teeth and severe damage to her right eye.

She was in surgery 3 hours to close the eye and sew up her face lacerations.

Our biggest prayer request is that when they examine her eye again, they have a different diagnosis. The doctor has unfortunately told me that he’s pretty confident she will NOT regain her vision but we believe that if God wants her to have both eyes restored, then He will fix it. Claiming for full vision restoration in the name of Jesus.

If that’s not His will, I’m still going to trust that His plans for her are good and He loves her more than her daddy and I do so that must be a lot.

She’s been tough as nails, she has hardly cried, she’s made jokes and poked back at her brothers.

We are waiting now for the eye surgeon to give the OK for her face plate surgery .

We were told this is a marathon but the best team is fixing her. I feel very blessed that the events and timeline happened in such a way that we were able to get her immediate care.

We feel loved we know she’s loved and thank you for helping to carry this burden for our family. Our hope is in Him and we know with that we will get through anything and so will she.

Side note , her horse was standing by her when her grandpa got there, I don’t believe for a second he meant to hurt her.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
