My brother Tyler is unexpectedly facing a medical crisis. He has been sick since early November and was repeatedly treated for pneumonia. Despite multiple rounds of strong antibiotics and even IV treatment in the ER, he never fully recovered. Last week, after developing swelling in his legs, he was rushed to the ER. His heart rate was dangerously high and his oxygen levels were critically low.

After being transferred to another hospital, doctors discovered that he was in acute heart failure.

He has now been hospitalized for a week. Doctors are still running tests, including genetic testing and a biopsy, to determine the cause. While there are still many unknowns, the medications are helping, he is improving, and his cardiologist is hopeful.
