Hello Everyone,

On behalf of Tyler-Marie Oates and Ryan Strickland, their friends and family would like to share what they are going through and ask for your help.

On March 26th Tyler and Ryan introduced their new baby, Kennedy Ann, into the world. After 3 wonderful weeks at home Tyler suddenly began to run a 101 fever, was experiencing body aches, chills, and a severe headache. She made the tough decision of leaving her new baby and Ryan at home, and made her way to the Emergency Room at Baptist. They immediately began running numerous tests on her, including: COVID-19 Testing, chest x-rays, chest CT, EKG, MRI, abdominal CT, and a lot of blood-work. All the test came back clear, but her fever was still going up - so they admitted her onto the COVID unit floor until her test came back.

Early Monday morning her fever jumped up to 103.8, and - terrifyingly - she became septic from what they suspected was severe Mastitis. Her body was beginning to shut down. They put her under the cooling blanket and began pushing the strongest antibiotics they could get their hands on. Her COVID test came back negative, so she was quickly moved to the OB floor at Baptist and her doctor confirmed her diagnosis. Once she was on the floor her fever began to spike up again and even more antibiotics were administered. She spent a total of 4 long days away from her new baby.

Only 2 days after behind released, she realized she was not getting any better. Her infection was just as bad, and nothing she was doing was bringing any relief. After seeing her OBGYN  this morning, he made the decision to re-admit her back into the hospital, where they have been pushing more antibiotics and running more test to figure out what exactly is going on.

She is now away from her baby again, and all alone.  All of these hospital stays - having her baby, going to the ER, being admitted, and then being admitted again today - has put a major financial strain on this sweet new family.

On top of everything, Tyler had to stop working earlier than we all did to keep her and her baby safe before Kennedy's arrival. Ryan has been super-dad, and Tyler's family has been helping every day.

Anything you may be able to contribute helps, and prayers are greatly appreciated at this time.  There are still many unanswered questions right now and a long recovery ahead.

Thank you all!!
