Support for Tyler Keene & Family: To Kick Cancer!
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family:
In mid February 2020, University of St. Francis Senior Tyler Keene began experiencing severe back pain and was diagnosed with cancer when an unknown mass was discovered after numerous tests and bloodwork were completed. Tyler had surgery to remove the mass on February 23rd, 2020 and it was determined by his Oncologist in March that Tyler would need 3 cycles of chemotherapy which would include 5 days of chemotherapy every 3 weeks.
Those of you that know Tyler know his zest for life, sports (playing football at USF) and the outdoors! Majoring in Outdoor Rec , Tyler has his sights set on working as a Forest Ranger at a National Park in Montana, Utah or California. He is also due to graduate this Spring of 2020.
With the unexpected diagnosis and surgery, Tyler and his family have been forced to make many decisions and changes to adjust to these current events.
Although Tyler is a student at University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL, his home state is Washington where his parents and family still reside. Tyler has had to take a leave from his job in February and is now on furlough as of April 19th. Both of Tylers parents Brian and Tracy have been off work since April. His father Brian is healing from back surgery with a 12 week recovery period. With Tylers surgery, hospitalization and chemo treatments being in Illinois, his mom Tracy is staying with him here in Illinois with relatives until he is through with chemo treatments and is healthy.
The family has also had to deal with the uncertainty of the pandemic that is currently on-going along with the pressures of coping and dealing with Tylers health and well being.
My hope is that you will find it within your hearts to consider donating to assist Tyler and his family with medical expenses, treatments and travel. I would also encourage you to share this post with others and for everyone to keep not only Tyler, but his entire family in your thoughts and prayers. Tyler is a positive, strong and determined young man with a world of opportunity ahead of him! With your support we can all help to make his and his family's journey a little easier.
As Tylers mom Tracy has expressed "Many have helped already with so many prayers, phone calls and cards all with words of encouragement to support us all."
It is interesting that where Tylers port is for his chemo, he has a tattoo that says " veni vidi vici" I came, I saw, I conquered!
Thank you in advance for your generosity and thoughtfulness... Let's help Tyler conquer this journey with our love, support and prayers. A sincere thank you to ALL!
