Tyana, my best friend's daughter-in-law, is facing one of the most difficult moments a parent can imagine. Her baby girl, Lily, was born at just 23 weeks, weighing only 1 pound 4 ounces. Lily is a true fighter, but she will need to stay in the NICU for close to five months as she grows stronger and receives the care she needs.

Tyana and her family live two and a half hours away from the hospital, making it incredibly hard to be by Lily’s side every day. They are currently on a waiting list for a place to stay closer to the hospital, but until then, the costs of travel, lodging, and meals are adding up quickly. On top of that, regular bills at home don’t stop, making this time even more stressful for the family.
