For years, my twin sister endured unexplained pain and countless misdiagnoses. Nothing seemed to help. In May 2022, after a severe bout with Covid, scans finally revealed the true cause: Stage 4 Neuroendocrine Cancer, with the primary tumor in her pancreas. By the time it was discovered, the cancer had already spread to her liver, lymph nodes, and bones.
Since her diagnosis, she has faced an incredibly tough journey. She’s undergone numerous treatments and surgeries, including a major procedure at the National Cancer Institute to remove tumors and organs in hopes of slowing the disease. Despite these efforts, there is no cure—only ongoing treatments to manage her cancer. Over the past four years, she’s had more than 50 scans, and new tumors have continued to appear in her liver and bones. Most recently, she was also diagnosed with skin cancer, adding another layer of difficulty to her fight.
The financial impact has been overwhelming. The cost of frequent scans, treatments, travel for specialized care, and daily living expenses has forced her to file for bankruptcy. The loss of income and mounting medical bills have created a burden that is hard to bear. Through it all, she has held onto her faith and the hope that better days are ahead.
We are reaching out for support during this incredibly challenging time. Your generosity will help her access the treatments she needs, cover everyday expenses, and give her the chance to spend more time with her loved ones. Thank you for reading her story and considering a donation to this GoFundMe campaign.
