Tucker Frederick Nielson, 47, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. His bright spirit, curiosity, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Born on August 3, 1978, in Salt Lake City, Tucker was the son of Gordon Keith Nielson and Susan Gay Morris Nielson. He grew up surrounded by cousins, forming close bonds within the Nielson, Workman, and Morris families that shaped his joyful and connected childhood.
Tucker attended the University of Utah, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English. It was during this time, shortly after returning from a full-time LDS Church mission in Rome, Italy, that he met the love of his life, Alysha Marie Curtis. They were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple in May 2002. Together, they built a beautiful family and raised their four children—Capri, Roman, Karoline, and Clara—in the Daybreak area, creating the same cousin-filled, family-centered upbringing Tucker had cherished as a child.
Tucker was an entrepreneur at heart, immersing himself in sales, fundraising, and product development with endless optimism and creativity. He was an Eagle Scout, a hard worker from a young age, and proudly worked at Primary Children’s Hospital while putting himself and his wife through college. Tucker’s love for learning, nature, and flying was matched only by his gift for storytelling and his ability to make everyone feel valued and supported. He faithfully served in the LDS Church, both as a missionary and as a devoted leader and mentor to the youth, cherishing these relationships and finding purpose in helping others grow and succeed.
Tucker is survived by his beloved wife, Alysha, and their children—Capri (18), Roman (18), Karoline (15), and Clara (12). His legacy of love and loyalty remains strong among all who were blessed by his presence. In the wake of his passing, Tucker’s family is facing significant challenges, including ongoing living expenses, educational costs for the children, and outstanding debts. Donations to this fundraiser will help the family stay in their home, cover tuition for the kids, and relieve financial stress until they can get back on their feet.
Thank you for your donations. Your support will directly impact the lives of the family that Tucker left behind, providing them with stability and hope during this difficult time.
