My younger brother Tucker was in a dirt bike accident this past weekend, doing something he loved. He suffered severe injuries—a brain bleed, skull fracture, and broken clavicle—and is currently in a trauma center in Raleigh. Just last weekend, we were celebrating the birth of his new baby girl with his wife Kat, who is now one month postpartum. The joy of starting their family has quickly turned into a time of uncertainty, hard decisions, and the need for strength as Kat recovers and cares for their newborn.
Tucker has always been a hard worker, looking forward to getting their first home and building a life for his family. Now, with medical bills mounting, living expenses, and the need for transportation to the hospital and rehab, the challenges are overwhelming. Kat is still out of work as she recovers and supports their baby, and Tucker will require extensive rehabilitation. Their family needs support to help them through this difficult time.
Tucker is a brother, an admired uncle to my two boys, and someone who would want to say no or return any help if he could. I’m asking as his big sister, knowing the struggles they will face. We want Tucker and his family to know they are not alone, and any support means the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read their story, and for any help you can offer.
