Trooper Steven J. Perry was a dedicated member of the North Carolina Highway Patrol, assigned to Durham and Granville Counties. In the early morning hours of March 1, 2026, Steven was tragically killed in the line of duty by a wrong way driver who struck him head-on in Durham County. Steven was not only a proud Trooper, but also a loving father to his infant daughter, Sasha Joy, and a devoted partner to Hunter. He was known for his infectious sense of humor and his remarkable ability to bring laughter to any room he entered. His presence brightened the lives of his colleagues, friends, and family, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.

Steven’s passing has left a profound void in the lives of those closest to him. As his friends and colleagues, we are coming together to support his family during this unimaginable time. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward the care of his daughter, Sasha Joy, and will help offset the day-to-day expenses faced by Hunter as she navigates life without Steven. Our hope is to provide some measure of comfort and stability to Steven’s family as they grieve and adjust to their new reality.
