For those who know Tristan, or have come to know his story recently, Tristan Fehr is a 21 year old aspiring pilot, passionate drummer, co founder of the local band Revera, and a deeply loved son, family member, and friend.

On August 1, Tristan and his family left Edmonton for a family vacation in Kelowna. Just days later, their lives changed in a way they never could have imagined. On August 6, Tristan was admitted to the hospital after experiencing sudden and severe seizures.

After spending several weeks hospitalized in B.C., Tristan was emergency airlifted home to Edmonton, where he is now in the ICU at the University of Alberta Hospital.

Tristan has been diagnosed with anti-NMDA receptor encephalitis, a rare and aggressive autoimmune disease that affects the brain. The condition is especially rare in males, making Tristan's diagnosis even more uncommon. He remains in critical condition in the ICU, with his family by his side as they take things one day at a time.

Since this began, Tristan's family has been focused on one thing, being there for him through every step of this incredibly difficult time.

His mom has taken a leave of absence from work so she can remain by his side. Along with time away from work, there are many unexpected and ongoing expenses that come with having a loved one hospitalized for an extended period of time.

So many people have reached out, shared Tristan's story, sent messages, and asked how they can support him and his family. This GoFundMe was created to give those who feel it on their heart to help a way to do so. Any funds raised will help with the costs that have come with Tristan's hospitalization and ongoing care, allowing his family to continue focusing their time and energy on being there for Tristan.
