Dear family and friends,
It is with great sadness that we write to inform you that our loved one, Trevor McWilliams, tragically lost his life around 12:15pm Thursday, August 20th, 2026 during a business-related trip to Cape Newenham on Alaska’s West coast.
Trevor was one of eight people aboard the Department of Defense chartered Security Aviation flight late Thursday morning that was enroute to the Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Site. The twin-engine Cessna 441 plane that they were traveling in crashed West of Cape Newenham’s airport, and tragically there were no survivors.
At home, Trevor was a loving husband to his wife Porschea and father to a blended family of 6 wonderful children. Trevor was a dedicated family man and worked very hard to provide the very best for his family. As a family, Trevor and Porschea sacrificed many things so that Trevor could build his career, and spread his wings by traveling all over. His family could see the excitement in Trevor's face when he shared the experiences of his travels. Trevor and Porschea built a beautiful life together over the course of 17 years, and the love that they had for each other was everything that they could ever hope for.
This dedication showed throughout his life and in his diligent work ethic. At work, Trevor was an extremely intelligent, hard-working, and very hands-on project engineer, who was never afraid to step up and speak his opinion, especially to ensure the work was getting done correctly and safely. Trevor was always first to volunteer when there was a new and challenging project that needed to be completed in the most challenging locations that Alaska has to offer and under seemingly impossible deadlines. Yet somehow Trevor always managed to complete the design drawings in record time; ship all of the job materials to site via planes, helicopters and sometimes even snow machine; manage the labor-intensive installation all while making new friends with everyone around him; and commissioning the fire protection systems to meet the customers' needs. Trevor was truly passionate about the integrity of each fire life safety system he oversaw and the safety of everyone around him, and for me personally he was a dear friend.
Trevor is survived by his loving wife Porschea and wonderful children Michael, Aiden, Ivy, Alora, Noah, Aspen. His loss leaves a huge hole emotionally and financially with his family, as Porschea sacrificed her career to allow Trevor the ability travel all over for his career, while their children were lovingly cared for at home. We are coordinating a Go Fund Me to help Trevor's family during this most difficult time.
Please keep Trevor’s family in your thoughts and in your prayers, as he was one-of-a-kind and will be missed more than these words today can express.
“Rest in peace Trev!”
